Hmm, is working fine for me.

How slow is your laptop? I've had pretty good results putting windows 7 on again xp laptops and it breathes a nice new life into them. Give it a go, im sure itll fix the character encoding issues. If not, it was probably time for a reinstall of xp anyway, right?

Hi Bitmaster

Thanks for your reply.

I am using winXP. I cannot upgrade to Windows 7 as my laptop is too slow.

I also doubt is the language capability. It could be something wrong with the PPStream itself.

You can try typing a chinese movie/show title in notepad or ms word and save it. Then you open up the document again and copy and paste to ppstream search box and see if it works at your side.

Thank you very much.

hi Jonie, sorry for the late reply. Normally, the ???? when you paste is due to character encoding issues, but if you can already type the characters in manually I assume you have chinese display capability on your system.

Old versions of windows are still quite picky about characters though - are you using Win98 or XP by any chance? Might be time to upgrade to Windows 7, which is a *lot* more internationally compatible.

Perhaps if you could send a screenshot of where youre copying it from and what it looks like when you paste??

hi BitMaster, the search function works fine now, after something that looked like an internal auto-update took place a few days later.

It showed the update in %, and i could search for titles once again after it reached 100%.

Thanks for the help =)

Tried the above, but the search function seems to be altered i guess. Will have to search for the movies manually if i were to stick to the program to watch.

Nothing appearing means no results available to you, but this could actually mean a couple of things.

1. They regularly change the access levels for various streams, so it may be that you have to log in. Check that you are fully registered and logged in before searching. The same thing happens to me when searching for tv shows. Also, the auto-login feature doesnt always work.

2. Update to the latest version from the PPSTREAM.tv website.

3. Check with a movie you know is definately there - open up the list of movies, look through for one you fancy the look of. Copy and paste the kanji characters for that movie into the search box - if it comes up with a result, it means the movie you are looking for probabaly isnt on there because search is working fine - if you cant even get a result for the movie you KNOW is there, then it means the search function has been altered somehow (not unusual for ppstream) and you'll have to find the movies some other way or wait for it to be fixed. In the latter case, I suggest you search on the website instead of via the app, then just watch using their player on full screen...

Hope one those steps helps you!

I used to be able to search for movies last time, like what you mentioned (pasting the chinese title keywords directly into the search box).

However now when i paste the keywords in, the list below doesn't reveal the channels which air the show. Nothing happens. And if i click on the search icon, it'll load the web browser.
